E11ers:
Extravaganza 2011 will forever be known as the Year of the Big Water, for here we are on the Ides of June with water flow in and on Rock Creek of 4,370 cfs—higher water than anytime in recent memory (if not in recorded history). By way of example, (a) last year at this time Da Creek was flowing at 2,000 cfs, (b) in 2009 she was flowing at 1,525 cfs, (c) in 2008--our most recent high water year (when we first crossed the Continental Divide to fish Da Mo)—she flowed at 2,750 cfs and (d) in our low water year of 2007, [get this] Rock Creek was flowing at 1,500 cfs [this year’s flow is 290% of that latter number].
The mantra for Group One is “To The Mo We Go”—and as to Groups Two and Three, when the Three’s “Gentleman Jim” Carmody earlier today asked where he would be fishing, my apropos comment was “In Montana!!!
More to come to you right from the scene of it all as it happens!
Best to all,
