All hail to the Mighty Twos who, like no other group in Extravaganza (surpassing even E-11’s Ones) history, came to Extravaganzaland and, on their Extravaganza Express, traversed the Continental Divide six (count ‘em) times [as did the Ones and as so will do the Threes] to fish the mighty Missouri with results that, by any standards, are simply stunning.
The prior record for trout entrants onto the all-Extravaganza Twenty Inch Board was Group One’s 23 twenty plus inchers—by the end of Day Two of the Tattoos fishing, they had racked up 20 such pescadors and, by the end of the tale of Da Twos, that number soared to 35 twenty inchers (the Twos landing 15 new entrants during their Day Three of fishing alone—a number which is the historical average for ALL groups in any one fishing year) and all of this when the Mo was at its mightiest, flowing at a record-pacing 21,800 cubic feet per second (twice the flow for the Ones and making the fish twice as hard to locate and land).
Bravo, bravo, bravo, Tattoos—indeed, you came, you fished and, like no other group on Extravaganza history (until the incoming Threes, that is!) you conquered all that was to be seen, cast to and netted!!
Shown above are the “big sticks” of the Tattoos—the yellow shirt winners of the best of the best, all, except for the “Rock Star” in the back that is, landing 22 inchers. Shown from left to right in the first row are Ralph “Red Baron” McLeran next to Lori “Fawn Lady” Ware and “Will The Thrill” Burke. As to Joe “Rock Star” Samillano in the back row, well, for the first time in Extravaganza history, he landed a Walleye pike on a fly (now small feat, I might add). Homeward bound on the Two’s motor coach, The Extravaganza Express, a heated debate imparted for what seemed like 100 miles of the 165 mile journey as just what to do with this errant finned beast. At the conclusion of brisk and emotional discussion (the starboard side of the bus was assigned the task to argue “for the pike” and the port side to the contrary), the conclusion of the Tattoos was to allow “Rock Star” to register his 30” pike on the Twenty Inch board, making the total total of Dem Twos 36 20+inchers, but that he should be awarded his own separate Yellow Shirt, creating the first ever Pike Category for Yellow Shirts—a decision that will live in future Extravaganza.
The Twos also set a picture-taking record, posting (via me) 1,136 [count ‘em!] pics to the E-11’s picture cloud site, many of which are coming your way pronto!!
Best to all in the mid-aftermath of the beauty of it all,
Rock Creek Ron
