With an all-star cast of multi-year returning veterans, Da Twos (also known as the Tattoos for their Circle C tattooing propensities!) will return to The Mighty Missouri River, just as they did during the last high water year of 2008, to see if they can meet, match and/or beat the huge harvest of 20 inch wild trout that the Ones feasted on (with their cameras, only that is!).
Flying in privately is eight year veteran Doug “Popeye” Hamilton who will serve as navigator to three year returning veteran Ralph “Red Baron” McLeran who will be piloting their two seater craft (with Popeye’s luggage already headed this way in advance via UPS). Popeye’s fishing partner will be two time(er?!?) and 2008 E veteran Ken “Mo Fish” Snider whose bride was and still is prominently portrayed in our Extravaganza movie (he being chided on more than one occasion during the movie by letting his rookie-to-fly-fishing wife [drastically] outfish him while on (and off) camera). Da Baron will be fishing with his brother Brian “Deer Me” McLeran [who, post E-09, tangled his motorcycle with a deer headed out of town and now, courtesy of wife Laura, now flies commercially] and Deer Me, in turn, will be fishing with his rookie son Marc with each of their trips being generously purchased at Montana Matter’s Napa Concert, with all proceeds of their purchase(s) going to that great and worthy cause [see www.montanamatters.com ].
And then, again, there again goes the neighborhood with the (rapidly) growing Tim “Squawfish” Rodgers boatloads of fisherfolk, the headliner of which is Napa’s inimitable pre-school guru Lori “Fawn Lady” Ware (who asks if we have enough tattoos for their group---yes we do, Fawn Lady!) who, with her fishing sidekick “Shanna Banana” Rodgers, has yet to see a river that she cannot bring to its knees. Well, Dynamic Duo, this year’s runoff calls for extra duty which will be provided by the Rodgers’ two veteran fishing gals, CT and Snowflake, otherwise known in real life as Mardy and Alia.
Whine not, Tattoos, because, as always, you are accompanied by wine greatness, not only by the reputation of Squawfish’s Walsh Vineyards Management, but also by the presence of Parducci Wine’s long time returning veteran Tom “Sockeye” Thornhill [so named for his Alaskaganza pranks] and rookie Joe Ciatti of Ciatti Co (gee, I wonder how that wine powerhouse company got its name!), not to mention (honorably) first time Extravaganzer Brad Miller (nephew of Joe, each of whom have yet to earn their E name), the latter of whom has (very) successfully segued from wine to pomegranate, being co-owner of Stiebs, LLC, now one of the largest pomegranate distributors in the world.
Not to be outdone by Sonapa vintages, the w[h]iners again will be accompanied by returning (from Florida, no less) contractors Bobby “Da King” Kingsland and his beautiful bride “Windy” Kelley (so named by her last Extravaganza’s first day complaining about the wind on the Bitterroot, only to see her not only see but realize yellow the following two days) and Joe “Da Man” Samillano and his (far) better half Tracie of yet to be determined E-11 naming.
Rounding out the scorecard for Da Twos is returning veteran Will “The Thrill” Burke who this year brings as his guest his dad Marius and long-time Extravaganzers “Down River Dave” Studeman and his wonderful spouse Lynn “Mighty Mini” Turnbull.
What a line up, folks---you Wonderful Ones out there better keep a close eye on Der Blog (if and when I ever get time to post to it, that is) to see if your Twenty Inch Club record holds water for, as with Der Ones, “to the Mo go the Tattoos.”
Best to all from the glorious scene of it all,
Rock Creek Ron
